This is a very neat Vintage Esso banner. This is a banner that would have hung at a gas station. 60 inches wide x 32 inches tall Esso was around from 1926 - 1972. The name originally came from the phoentic spelling of initials of Standard Oil (SO), so it became Esso. The Maker’s Mark on it says ‘Chicago Show Printing’ 12-47 which is very cool! It also has printed instructions on the back that say to make sure to re-tie the ropes and check it frequently. It is missing the ropes that would have tied it on the sides on the top and the bottom. The rope was stitched into the top seam. It is in great shape for its age, there is some wear, minor stains but considering age, in excellent shape. There is a small 2 inch tear at the bottom right hand corner and some of the stitching is loose.
