This is a painted metal Pennzoil sign that is double sided. It’s the traditional oval shape of Pennzoil. The bottom says ‘Property of the Pennzoil Company’ and C & P Signs - L.A. This sign has the ‘full bell’ on it, some of the signs of the 60s and later had a split bell, so this dates this sign to an earlier period in our opinion. There are some paint flaws, aging, and some spots of minor rust through on it. There are also a couple of paint touch ups and some paint transfer (red and yellow, which tracks with it coming from the Shell station). We got this sign out of a collection in Dallas, Oregon from a family owned vintage Signal gas station. The family then changed the gas station to Shell when Signal went out of business in the 60s. They operated as a Shell station until 1991, and had this Pennzoil sign in their shop. A few years ago, the daughter of the gas station owner was selling things from their gas station, and this sign was one of the things we bought. Dimensions: Just under 31 inches wide and 18 inches tall There are 4 holes on it for mounting, top and bottom, the top holes have grommets in them. There are two smaller holes on the sides, and a small hole in the bottom middle too.
